How do I cycle my tank before my Betta arrives?
Cycling creates the good bacteria your Betta needs to stay safe
Quick steps:
- Set up tank with heater, filter, and dechlorinated water
- Add an ammonia source
- Test for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate
- Wait for ammonia = 0 and nitrite = 0
- Do a water change before adding your Betta
Time: Usually 2–4 weeks
